Police in Illinois are writing tickets for seat belt violations more and more frequently. A recently enacted Illinois law now requires drivers and passengers of all ages to wear a seat safety belt no matter where they are seated in the vehicle. Police are able to stop a vehicle because of an unbuckled passenger. The fine for this violation will not exceed $25 plus court costs.
