Which Criminal and Traffic Cases are Assigned to the Daley Center Courthouse?Misdemeanor DUI arrests and traffic violations that occurred within the boundaries of the City of Chicago are assigned to the Daley Center courthouse. Cases initiated by the following law enforcement agencies are often heard at the Daley Center: Chicago Police Department, Illinois State Police, Cook County Sheriffs Police, Metra Police Department, Secretary of State Police, Northeastern Illinois University Police, Chicago State University Police, and the University of Illinois Police.
The minor violation (i.e. traffic ticket) court calls at the Daley Center are held everyday at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. These cases are often assigned to courtrooms CL01, CL03, CL05, and CL07 on the concourse level of the building and courtroom 401 on the fourth floor of the Daley Center.
The major violation (i.e. DUI) court calls are held everyday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., primarily in courtrooms 402, 404, 405, 406 and 408 on the 4th floor of the Daley Center.
Those charged with driving on a suspended license or driving on a revoked license will likely be assigned to appear in courtrooms 403 or 407 on the 4th floor of the Daley Center. These court calls are held everyday at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Motions are heard weekdays at 9 a.m. in courtroom LL04 the Lower Level of the Daley Center. Violations of sentence are heard weekdays at 1 p.m. in this same courtroom.
The paperwork (i.e. bond slip or traffic ticket) provided by the police officer should indicate the exact time and courtroom where you are required to appear. If you receive a minor traffic that does not list a court date, it may be necessary to request a court date to prevent the ticket from appearing on your record.
How do I get to the Daley Center?The Daley Center is located in downtown Chicago is accessible by car, train or bus. You can use the Washington stop of the Red Line or Blue Line or walk from Ogilvie Station or Metra Union Station. Although they are often costly, there are a number of parking garages in the area as well.
